The project will gather youth workers in the Czech Republicfor an intensive training focused on fast fashion, itsenvironmental impact, circular economy, EU textilelegislations, and fashion activism. We aim to empower youth workers with the knowledge,skills, and tools to address challenges in the Europeanfashion and textile industry. Participants will engage in team activities, discussions,workshops, and visits to local events and organisations.These experiences will support both the dissemination of theproject and its application in their work with young people.
WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE AT THIS PROJECT
The project aims to raise awareness about ethicalfashion and provide youth workers with the tools to fightoverconsumption and educate young people on theharm of the “affordable” fast fashion.
THE CONTEXT BEHIND THIS PROJECT
The popularity of fast fashion in Europe has been drivenlargely by its affordability, but this comes at a significantcost. The fast fashion industry is directly linked to humanrights abuses and environmental degradation.It has also contributed to overconsumption and a growingtextile waste crisis, with EU citizens generating over 11 kgof textile waste per person annually.In response, the EU’s ‘Strategy for Sustainable andCircular Textiles’ seeks to tackle these issues bypromoting recycling and sustainability within the textile industry.
What will we do?
The project will bring together 30 youth workers in the CzechRepublic for intensive training, utilising educational tools fromFashion Revolution, as well as resources from the local office,FRCZ, and their RecyCOOL academy project. Participants will engage in workshops, discussions, local visits,group mini-projects, and presentations, gaining practicalinsights and skills related to sustainable fashion, Europeanvalues and Erasmus+ project.The training aligns with Fashion Revolution Week, allowingparticipants to contribute to and learn from this glocal event. We will attend local Fashion Revolution Week in Zlínon 27th April 2025. This will include a visit to the local designuniversity and a sustainable fashion exhibition. The event willalso feature workshops and talks focused on sustainability infashion and textile industry.Participants will have the opportunity to connect with localuniversity and gallery, fostering collaboration to amplify theproject’s impact and promote sustainable, ethical practiceswithin their communities.(For more information about the event or organisation, pleasecheck the links under the highlighted words.)
The selected participants should also…
– Attend preparatory online meeting;
– Contribute to the development of a Toolkitfrom the training and its translation it into theirlanguage;
– Participate in Learning Self-Assessment afterthe mobility (online form);
– Organise at least 2 offline follow-up activitiesper country to disseminate the project results intheir communities;
– Participate in follow up online meeting toshare information about their disseminationefforts, assess the project’s overall impact andlearning, help further spread the awareness.
Requisiti: Aver raggiunto la maggiore età, essere interessati alle tematiche del progetto;
Lingua del progetto: Inglese (si richiede un livello intermedio-alto). Non sono richieste certificazioni linguistiche.
Condizioni economiche: Vitto e alloggio coperti al 100% dall’organizzazione ospitante. Il costo dei biglietti di viaggio sarà rimborsato da parte dell’organizzazione ospitante fino ad un massimo di 395€ a persona. Le eventuali eccedenze sono a carico del partecipante.
Donazione: in caso di risposta positiva, per rendere effettiva la partecipazione, ti verrà chiesta una donazione per Membership per Beyond Borders del valore di 40 Euro. La valenza della donazione è ANNUALE. Ciò significa che se parteciperai ad altri progetti di mobilità giovanile (Scambi e Corsi di Formazione Erasmus+) tramite la nostra associazione nel 2025, non dovrai pagarla nuovamente.
