Let‘s talk (more) about gender, baby! aims to a build capacities in identifying and tackling gender stereotypes and prejudices and promote gender sensitive media content. Let’s talk (more) about gender, baby! training course is at its second edition, so it will build on the previous edition. Its main educational approach is to create the space for peer learning in order for participants to work together and support the young people back in their communities to put in practice concret changes to reduce gender inequality.
Some of the topics we will explore together during the 8 days training course:
– Statistics about gender inequality;
– Legislation in EU countries;
– Concepts related to gendeer;
– What feminism has achieved (global perspective);
– Eco-feminism;
– Gender-based violence;
– Focus & analyze media content using gender lenses;
– Inclusive language & mental health;
LEARNING OBJECTIVES & METHODOLOGY
1. Building the competencies of youth workers to identify and tackle gender stereotypes and prejudices and promote gender-sensitive media content through Design Thinking (DT) methodology.
2. Raising awareness, engagement and critical thinking towards the portrayal of each gender in the media among organizations from Europe
by using different non formal education methods.
The methodological framework of the project is based on non formal education with a main focus on Design Thinking (DT). DT is a human-centered methodology which allows us to design empathic activist actions, looking for genuine needs, fears, motivations, aspirations, which we identify when working with young people and with different community actors related to gender issues in media.
DT is especially used when looking for innovative solutions to solve complex problems in contexts such as biased gender representation in the media.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
AGENDA
The agenda and a more specific schedule will be available after the final selection of participants. Each day will start with a circle of intention and will end with reflection group time. Free time (half of the day) is going to be part of the program,an organized trip or a self-organized one, based on the group’s needs and wishes.
SUSTAINABILITY
One of our core educational approaches is related to global education and the promotion of sustainable behaviors at the individual level and the organizational level. Therefore, here are a few aspects that we integrate in all our activities:
– all meals offered during the training will be vegetarian;
– we encourage the use of green travel as much as possible, especially for participants coming from the neighbouring
countries;
– we will organise the selective collection of materials for recycling and will ask participants to do so as well;
– we will make use of recycled/used paper and reduce our use of materials in general in order to avoid waste;
Participants will be informed at large about our principles on environmental sustainability in order to be aware of the reasons and needs for doing this and will be encouraged and supported to join us.
Requisiti: Aver raggiunto la maggiore età, essere interessati alle tematiche del progetto;
Lingua del progetto: Inglese (si richiede un livello intermedio-alto). Non sono richieste certificazioni linguistiche.
Condizioni economiche: Vitto e alloggio coperti al 100% dall’organizzazione ospitante. Il costo dei biglietti di viaggio sarà rimborsato da parte dell’organizzazione ospitante fino ad un massimo di 275€ a persona. Le eventuali eccedenze sono a carico del partecipante.
Donazione: in caso di risposta positiva, per rendere effettiva la partecipazione, ti verrà chiesta una donazione per Membership per Beyond Borders del valore di 40 Euro. La valenza della donazione è ANNUALE. Ciò significa che se parteciperai ad altri progetti di mobilità giovanile (Scambi e Corsi di Formazione Erasmus+) tramite la nostra associazione nel 2024, non dovrai pagarla nuovamente.
